- This magnificent cabinet or highboard was designed by Alfred Hendrickx for Belform. The piece is a one of a kind … more This magnificent cabinet or highboard was designed by Alfred Hendrickx for Belform. The piece is a one of a kind edition for the 1958 World Expo in Bruxelles, for which Hendrickx worked together with the artist Jaak van de Vijver from the ceramic studio Perignem. The unique tile art is made on 28 separate tiles, 14 tiles per door and each door is signed 'V.D.V 58'. They have a wonderful abstract design in blue, white, black and yellow, which blend in perfectly with the ebonized bubinga wood of the cabinet. Both Alfred Hendrickx and Perignem used this cabinet to impress the crowd at the expo. Apart from the looks, this cabinet is also very functional offering multiple adjustable shelves, drawers, a bar, and a display cabinet. less
