Chocolate teapot in fine Porcelain de Paris, the object whose shape, linear and elegant, reminiscent of the English Victorian period, has been made much more refined and rich decorating it with fine and elaborate floral decorations in pure gold handmade, even the edges, the handle, the knob, and the entire spout have linear decorations in gold, was made by master craftsmen between 1870 and 1875 in Napoleon III style in respect of ancient traditions and raw material (kaolin). “Porcelain de Paris” is a term that refers collectively to the various porcelain decorating workshops and studios within and around Paris, France. It is not the name of any single company or producer and is usually applied to craft objects of excellent workmanship produced between the mid and late nineteenth century. The makers are in some cases obscure and generally unknown or have created only a few and rare pieces. Antique porcelain objects from Paris are the most desired by collectors and are present in many museums around the world. In the reigning period of Napoleon III (1852-1870) there is a real revival of past styles such as the first empire, but the eclecticism that characterized the period, made it more graceful, refined and elegant by inserting neo-gothic, neo-renaissance and oriental elements. The chocolate teapot is in good condition, but the spout has a repair (see photo) also in some parts the pure gold appears consumed, but this makes the object much more fascinating and historically interesting. Measures width cm.18, depth cm.13, height cm.26. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects. less
