We are selling this very large old religious oil painting. This large oil portrait on canvas appears to be of a high ranking official with unusual purple vestment clothing, probably not a cardinal but possibly a bishop or archbishop. The figure looks very important and what is probably his church is included in the painting. We're not sure of the origins of the painting and it may be European or American.
Condition: The painting has a significant number of old repairs and damages to the canvas, and is in need of additional repairs and probably a re-lining.
