ABOUT THE COLLECTION:
For this exclusive collection, Carly wanted to create pieces that would feel like a perfect compliment to all of Chairish’s unique and vintage home furnishings. Like most of her work, Carly’s art is inspired by images of people from the past, whether it be in fashion, advertising or pop culture. Carly is also drawn to the personality and character one can find in interiors and objects such as an old vase, a slightly weathered chandelier or antique Italian garden chair. Always with a bit of whimsy and cheekiness and a dash of romance and elegance, Carly’s collection hopes to bring a timelessness into the everyday modern home.
ARTIST BIO:
Carly Kuhn, also known as The Cartorialist, is an artist and designer. Born and raised in New York City, Carly lived in Los Angeles, CA for the past 12 years but recently moved back to the East Coast to Miami, FL. Initially known for her fashion illustrations that became an Instagram sensation after Sarah Jessica Parker reposted one of her drawings, Carly parlayed her growing social platform into collaborations with esteemed brands such as Dior, Oscar De La Renta, Capitol Records, Prada, and Elle. Today, Carly’s work goes beyond the screen and continues to pop up in an array of delightfully unexpected places such as building facades, wall coverings, bedding, vases and more. Her most recent work — and specifically this collection with Chairish — is a nod to her New York City upbringing, with pieces that celebrate the city's multicultural and vibrant lifestyle. less
