A very pretty old Chinese trinket box constructed of pure jade panels. The pieces of jade are supported by a frame work of cloisonné that is decorated with delicate shades of blue, turquoise and green enamelled leaves. The top/lid has a semi precious stone flower arrangement growing upwards from a 'rock' that includes Carnelian stone.
The lid opens to reveal the inside with gilt work. The box rests on tiny Ming style feet.
Some of the semi precious stone appliqué is missing. The base is solid brass marked 'China'.
A delightful and rare little jade box to be treasured - and a lot of jade!
