An original watercolor painting on paper by John Edmund Buckley, British artist 1824-1876, "Reconciliation" titled under the matting, 8 3/8" tondo, scene of an aristocrat and a maiden holding hands, seated on a bench in a wooded setting, signed J.E.Buckley 1858 in the lower right front, CA number 3872, CA purchased September 2021. The work is matted with Antique White Museum Matboard, Museum Glass and museum backing, framed in 1/2" antiqued gold Newcomb Macklin moulding.
A section of the original matting is inscribed: "Happy Christmas and love to Andrew". less
