Description: Offered is a sweet and early original Voigtlander Perkeo I folding camera, features a Vaskar 75mm f/4.5 lens and Pronto shutter. The camera has vertical folders (that is, the front door opens sideways in relation to the body, not downward). Item displayed on a small acrylic display tray, in a rubberwood (rustic finish) and acrylic case, creates a striking vintage-looking retail or museum exhibit. The curio box, as the cover sits securely in the groove carved around the base keeps the showcased item dust-free. This contemporary display case is an excellent way to show-off such a great piece of film photography history!
Measures: Device; 5 L x 1.75 W x 3.5 H inches. Case; 13.25 L x 9.5 W x 9.5 H inches.
Included items: Device and original manufacturer's leather carry case, case, acrylic display tray.
About the item: The Perkeo I, made from 1950, was sold with a variety of lens options; a Vaskar 75 or 80mm f/4.5 or a Color-Skopar 80mm f/3.5. Several shutters were also available, from a Vario, a Pronto, a Prontor S, Prontor SV or Prontor SVS, or a Synchro-Compur. Models produced from 1951-1952 do not have a double exposure prevention interlock. The design owes something to the Bessa 66. The cameras all have a small telescopic viewfinder built into the plated metal top housing, and a cold shoe.
