A splendid Auguste Moreau signed table lamp. Cold painted . Depicts two young ladies picking apples, with a basket of apples at the base. Has the Collection Francaise Foundry coin. Weighs 24lbs and is 45” high to the top. In excellent condition with period wear and patina, consistent with age and use.
Auguste Moreau was a French sculptor born in Dijon. The third and youngest son of sculptor and painter Jean-Baptiste Moreau, Auguste began creating sculptural works alongside his older brothers Hippolyte and Mathurin. less
