Argentine sketch artist and painter, Lola de Lusarreta (b. 1901 - d. 1982) . It is titled "El Transparente": Catedral de Toledo, numbered 6 of 10, and signed and dated by the artist in 1948. According to her, it took seven months to complete a series of etchings while she was living and studying in Spain and France after World War II. This one belonged to my grandfather who lived in a remote mountain village in Cordoba, Argentina, and while the wood frame is original, the matte board border and non-glare glass have recently been replaced, as well as the paper on the back and the hanging hardware. The etching image measures 11.5" W x 15.5" H on paper that measures 12" x 16". less

It was originally displayed in a home in Cordoba, Argentina, transported to a home in Washington, DC in the late 1960s where it hung for over three decades, and has since been in Miami, FL as of 1999. The former dark green matte border has been replaced, as has the cracked glass, the paper on the rear side, and the hanging hardware. less
