The revised and updated edition softcover monograph art book is published by Thames & Hudson, printed in Spain in 1987 by Artes Grapficas Toleda S.A., authored by Marco Livingstone.
David Hockney ( B. 1937 ) has commanded greater popular acclaim internationally than any other British artist of The 20th Century. The author Marco Livingstone explores here the relationship between Hockney's art and his life, and charts the shifts in Hockney's work from the early 1960's to his renewed absorption with inventions and artifice since the mid 1970's, his brilliant photographic collages, and his theatrical designs for the stage.
