We recommend using LED lights because they help preserve the antique fixture longer. Antique chandeliers/fixtures may have to be adapted to modern houses. Due to the weight, the contractor should inspect the electrical box to see if it requires ceiling reinforcement. Please check with your electrician or contractor for additional specifics on installing antique chandeliers/fixtures. This chandelier requires a canopy and chain that are not included. The body of this chandelier is hand-cast bronze and brass and features a top etched crystal shade with frosted circles as well as a crystal dome. The crystal dome on the bottom is held in place by a center rod, finial, and screws, to a brass rim. To replace the light bulbs inside the dome, one must carefully hold the crystal dome before proceeding to unscrew the screws in the brass rim, followed by the bottom finial. The brass rim has a slight bent due to the age as well as the use over time, from changing out lightbulbs. There are nicks and scratches throughout the body of the chandelier. Weighs 95 pounds. With packing materials, it may weigh up to 115-130 lbs and requires white-glove handling and packing. less

It … more Beaux-Arts was a dominant design during the Gilded Age and was a subset of Neoclassical and Greek Revival styles. It is characterized by order, symmetry, grandiosity, and elaborate ornamentation. The name translates from French to “beautiful arts.” This spectacular chandelier most certainly lives up to the Beaux-Arts name. The bronze arms are cast in a cornucopia-like shape with acanthus leaf ornaments on the side. Bronze pine shells are placed in between the candles as well as on the bottom of the cut crystal. The crystal shade at the top has a scalloped-like edge with small, frosted circles, enhancing both the design and light. In true Beaux-Arts fashion, the chandelier has been split into two parts, with a knotted rope attaching the two, making a dramatic look. The top half of the chandelier features scallop shell ornaments and more acanthus leaves. Every surface has been meticulously detailed, even the bottom of the candle base, with a sunflower-like design. This is a show-stopping and unique chandelier that will leave many in awe. It would look lovely in a study, living room, or hallway. less
