The soothing color palette with cool whites and blues in the background is anchored by a hint of yellows and greens in the foreground. Part of a series of landscapes, the artist created this original oil on canvas in the early to mid 20th century.
This serene work by an American artist depicts the mountains and boats on water in Connecticut. The calm water is rendered in quick, decisive brush strokes and bold, direct color, reflecting the Impressionistic influence on the artist.
Heavy impasto through out the painting.
