There is slight separation on the sides and drawers from shrinkage. The inside of the back right leg might be confused for a repair since the slight separation of the paint exposes the joint of the original construction. However, no repairs have been done to the slender cabriole legs. There are signs of woodworm, but it has been professionally eradicated. Despite being over one hundred years old, the colors are rich and have a nice patina. However, there are tiny spots where the paint has chipped or nicked (see images). We will be happy to provide more close-up images upon request. less

The deep green background color accentuates the bright floral motifs that are generously distributed on all sides of the commode. The grandeur, grace, and beauty of the rococo artwork, in combination with, the hand-carved serpentine top, curvaceous bombe body, and flowing cabriole legs, all make for a truly poetic piece that makes a perfect statement in any bedroom, living room, entryway, or hallway, while providing two generous drawers of storage. The commode has all its original pieces including the patinated bronze pulls that continue to add the Rocaille ornamentation loved by fans of the Rococo Period. Each Drawer: H= 37 in. W=45 in. D=18 in. less
