A bold and serene landscape mixed media art sculpture painting on pierced and solar burn paper canvas. Jay McCafferty, Artist, “As Above, So Below” titled art work features an overhead scene in which the viewer can interpret and imagine the vast textured nature landscapes. Monumental distinctive original piece in quality acrylic lucite case front and side enclosed frame. A secure bracket is attached to the back of the frame - add a wire to hang horizontally/vertically.

The Artist
Jay McCafferty (1948 – 2021) was born and raised in California. He received his Bachelor of Arts from California State University at Los Angeles and his M.F.A at University of California, Irvine. He won the LACMA New Talent Award and received a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship grant.
Jay’s work primarily centers on solar paintings. He uses a magnifying glass to channel the rays of the sun, burning paper while reacting to various stimuli, such as rust and pigment. Jay focuses on being in the moment and letting the art unfold and develop one spot at a time, sometimes leading to sublime results.
Jay’s work has been exhibited around the world and is in numerous collections including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Getty Museum. less
