Born in England in the late 18th / early 19th century, having a quartered bookmatched burlwood top crossbanded in walnut with block molding edge, over two drawers with quality hand cut dovetail joinery, retaining their original patinated brass handles; exotic highly figured burled yew and satinwood string banding inlay; pegged mortise framed rising on distinct hand carved and chamfered legs.
An exceptional example, with wonderful original patina, warm, rich coloring, superb grain detailing, good size and proportions for a variety of uses, and full of charming antique character, rustic elegance and sophistication.

Provenance:
The collection of oil magnate Jim Musselman. Musselman has an impressive track record of finding oil, leading multiple successful oil and gas ventures, including establishing Caelus Energy, JM Petroleum, founding partner of Kosmos Energy, Triton Energy, and various other oil explorations. He found accidental celebrity when he starred in the film Big Men, produced by Brad Pitt.
