Reminiscent of the sophisticated, classical golden age of old Hollywood, exquisitely hand carved and painted, this exceptionally executed sculptural movie theater sign dates to the mid-20th century.

Monumental, larger than life-size, this realistic rendering depicts an usher in formal uniform, with protruding three-dimensional face, hands, and feet, holding a sign that reads: "quiet here please"

Features finely detailed carving, illusion painting, and rich, dimensional polychrome paint decoration with extraordinary warmth and depth. Dark wine red burgundy color background, bordered by moulded parcel gilt gold and green frame.

Outstanding patina over the whole, organic heavily distressed finish, with crackled chippy paint and beautiful fine craquelure, lending to a nicely aged, sophisticated, yet unpretentious elegance and relaxed comfortable rustic presence.
