Rare striking original multimedia painting by highly regarded French artist Gilbert Valentin (1921-2001).
Valentin, a modernist at heart, had his own gallery, Galerie Les Archanges in Vallauris, France from 1950 to the 1970’s. This overlapped when Picasso worked in Vallauris where the two became close friends along with Jean Cocteau and Georges Braque.
Valentin’s work is collected worldwide and command prices in the many thousands of dollars. Even lithographs start at around $700. This piece is a rare signed original gouache and watercolor on paper.
