An exceptional vintage parcel gilt Italian Venetian low table (cocktail or coffee table), dating to the mid-20th century, crafted in French Louis XV taste, finished in a heavily distressed painted antique deep red, rustic chippy paint finish, with hand carved giltwood accents.
The nicely shaped and contoured solid wood frame features an elegant silhouette of flowing lines thanks to the serpentine shaped form, scalloped apron, and graceful cabriole legs with openwork embellishments.
Topped with the original hourglass cartouche shaped reverse painted white scrolling foliate flourish and gold leaf decorated inset glass top.
Having a luxurious, elegantly sophisticated presence, with a relaxed, cozy warmth and rich old world vibe, it's sure to become a focal point in any room.
