I like to think of the stories this beautiful pumpkin shaped teapot with stand & burner could tell. It is a large 3 quart capacity Sheffield Plate & was made by J. Creswick with hallmark indicating manufacture circa 1830. It is engraved on both sides with griffins, latin phrases, "Speramus," and "Fuimus" & lion passant indicating Clan Bruce. The teapot sits on a pierced stand with cabriolet legs terminating on shell formed feet. Hinged teapot lid opens easily. Pin securing pot to stand is missing.
Teapot measure approximately 9" diameter. less
