Italy, 19th century, almost certainly Rome, exceptionally executed in timeless Greco-Roman classical style, with inspiration from important Roman Catholic church tabernacle stands and altar tables, having a distinctive sculptural silhouette, featuring a long thick rectangular white Carrara marble top with molded edge, inset with three highly polished Rosso Levanto marble panels, each showcasing deep reddish hues and striking interweaving glossy white veining, creating a bold yet harmonious contrast and stunning visual display; rising on chunky architectural turned column-form leg supports in iconic white Carrara marble with subtle light gray veining, terminating in square rosso levanto base block feet.
Almost certainly a custom made one-of-a-kind work, commissioned by someone with great means, such as aristocratic nobility, wealthy elite, Catholic church, or perhaps it was exported to a foreign royal.
