The water carafe/pitcher is hammered silver plate over copper, with a stylized handle of ivy leaves and silver integrated with Malachite gemstones recessed with part of the handle, as well as a crafted grasshopper, "hanging,' upon the side body of this unique water carafe, a stunning conversation piece at any dinner party, and sure to entice many to wonderment. Father taught and integrated both Wolmar and his sister who is "also," known in her own right for creating artisan pieces of silver with, exquisite and eclectic design sense and style, both passed onto them by their Father, in the teaching, refining and honing their skills, in which to carry on the Los Castillos, name, into the next generations to follow, but synonymous to the iconography within the height of Silversmith Foundries, uniqueness and singular onto itself. They are best known for utilizing; either silver and sterling, hammered over copper, with a combination of gemstones, semi-precious, and indigenous to the surroundings, as well as utilizing in the design theme an aspect, while incorporating aspects of the outdoors, natural surroundings, via flora fauna, leaves, from Ivy, Oak and Lily Pad's, as well as small animal and bird, species such as grasshoppers, toucan's, parrot's, ant's spiders, and the like. All of which are hand-made, hewn and hand-applied. They are visceral and unique, distinct, clever, eye-catching, with and in mind, "unforgettable." The pieces have been distinctly made for entertaining, either within dinner service, holiday, table scape settings and/or bar service, which back in the day was the height of gathering people to one's home, not only as such but within his dichotomy a way via soirees/dinners in showcasing one's wares, but also living with good design and the creative artistry, of these highly crafted pieces of distinction, but also utilitarian.
