This print is a pochoir. Pochoirs are stencils that were cut with a straight edged knife and then colored by hand with broad, soft, layers of opaque gouache. This process was short lived and now rare, as it was extremely labor intensive. This pochoir is a “fun” mid-century image. It is highly stylized. Note the gestures and the glances of the models. Note too the fabulous detailing in their accessories such as the polka dots on the white gloves and the hat, the hair accessories and the beaded choker. The fashion plate is clean and pristine with no markings. It is printed on thick gray colored textured paper which adds a unique quality to the print. It is 11 x 15 inches in size. See less
