The artist has used both oil and acrylic on board as well as fiber and paper to create the textural, layered details in this painting. The textured effect is subtle - almost like terrain and island mapping. You have to see and feel this work to appreciate the complexity of the piece. Beautiful pop of jade, turquoise, and shades of blue green with subtle highlights of white and red. This is an ethereal and happy piece of art. The vibrant color adds life to any room. Purchased from the artist in 2006. Signed and dated lower right corner. Sides are painted black. Ready to hang. The artist designed this piece to be hung either vertically or horizontally.
