Hand painted in traditional designs including reserve … Read more A set of tall opposing Chinese porcelain vases in the Famille Jaune palette. Hand painted in traditional designs including reserve panels on the front and back with scenes depicting a group of gentlemen and ladies making offerings or paying homage to an important dignitary in a landscaped setting/pavilion. The remaining body is painted in an allover design with precious objects and floral bouquets against a yellow ground.
The top rim is painted with a ruyi border and bottom is finished with a colourful geometric border. Whimsical opposing fu/foo dog/lion handles and chimeras on the neck. Pink pomegranate rim decorations.
Signed / chopped on the underside with a Jiaqing dynasty seal stamped in red.
Age: Mid-20th century.
Condition is excellent and it's nice to find a pair like this!
