This Keith Haring Estate rare vintage 1999 offset lithograph print custom framed collector's Pop Art poster " Untitled ( Palladium Backdrop ) " 1985, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Pop Art poster print is published by LEM Art Group, printed in Italy in 1999 in an unnumbered limited edition with the authorized licensed rights of The Estate of Keith haring. it features an " Untitled ( Palladium Backdrop ) " artwork image originally created by Haring in 1985.
This is a rare opportunity for true Keith Haring fans and collectors as this coveted image Pop Art print is long out of print and very scarce to find.
Keith Haring ( 1958 - 1990 ) was an incredibly vibrant American artist and social activist who's artwork responded to the 1980's Street culture by expressing concepts of birth, death, sexuality, and war. Haring's work was often heavily political, his imagery became a widely recognized vivid and iconic visual language of The 20th Century. Haring's close friends and inspirational contemporaries included Andy Warhol, Jean Michel Basquiat, and Madonna all of whom he collaborated with in his lifetime. Artworks by Haring are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The Palladium was an iconic nightclub in the 1980's in New York City located on East 14th Street. The Thomas W. Lamb designed building was built in 1927 originally as a deluxe movie palace, later in the 1960's - 1970's converted as a Rock concert venue and finally in 1985, The Palladium was created into a nightclub by Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager, after their success with Studio 54.
Featuring DJ's from Danceteria, the New Wave, Euro, and House Music oriented club had Post Modern style redesigned interiors by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki. The Palladium featured commissioned artworks by famous artists including Keith Haring, Jean Michel Basquiat and Francesco Clemente. Basquiat's mural was in a bar called The Mike Todd Room, Clemente's mural was in a stairwell, and Haring's mural was the focal point of the club as the backdrop behind the dance floor.
The rare out of print collector's framed Pop Art poster measures 23 7/8" W X 32" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern matte brushed finish dark charcoal metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition with light signs of handling.
