Unframed, the piece is approximately Height: 30” x Width: 22”
Artist's technique is layering and tearing heavy paper to create texture, then painting on the top sheet; all is then applied to a full 32 x 25 sheet of black paper.
Jack graduated with honors from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, in 1975, where he majored in Architecture and minored in graphic design.

- 1988-1992: Employed by Lord, Aeck & Sargent Architects, Atlanta
Beside architecture, Jack was active in the 1980s-1990s Atlanta Art Scene. He had numerous solo Atlanta exhibitions, including shows at Café Des Amis (1984), Affairs (1985), New Visions Gallery of Contemporary Art (1988)* and the Callenwolde Fine Arts Gallery (1989).

- Most significant piece of Jack's work is a rug that now hangs in the new (2020) Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center (ADARC) at Columbia University. This piece that depicts a DNA helix, was originally in ARARC’s first Manhattan location. (see last photo; this sale does not relate to the ADARC rug/hanging).
*The New Visions Gallery was a vision of the Director of the Bureau of Cultural Affairs, and opened in space provided at 999 Peachtree Street in 1988. The NVG was "a non-profit gallery to promote local minority artists; a premiere space, accessible to a public who would be interested in buying art who would want to be educated about contemporary art; to give black artists an opportunity in Midtown Atlanta." The inaugural show, funded by Coca-Cola, was titled, "Thirteen Atlanta Artists." Jack was selected, 1 of 13, out a pool of 50 local artists to participate. less
