A charming, delicate original painting painted plein air in my garden, like Monet! But I thing the subject, flowers and birds, give it a sweet country English feel. You would think it was painted in the Cotswolds. My neighbor came over and said 'You've got a real English garden here!" I was thrilled with the compliment. This 'sweet petite' of a painting measures framed 7 inches high by 7 inches wide and is painted on a sturdy hardboard panel.. The depth of the of the frame is about 5/8 inches. The painting was created in oil paint . The painting is signed on the lower right. This painting can be hung on the wall or displayed on a table top easel.
Marina Movshina is an American artist known for landscape painting, and for her illustrations of children’s books, as well as her botanicals. Her paintings have been selected for the exhibition of distinguished alumni at Carnegie-Mellon’s Centennial Celebration of its College of Fine Art, the Logan Center at the University of Chicago and the Harlin Museum in West Plains, MO. An elected artist member of the American Artists’ Professional League, New York, NY, she is admired for her skill as a painter and draftsman in the handling of space, depiction of light, and expert use of color. She received a B.F.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University and studied at the Art Students’ League, New York, NY, Washington University, St. Louis, MO, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL. Marina lives in St. Louis, MO.
