Michael Garman (b. 1938) has been a full time and well recognized sculptor. This piece is from his 1970s “Spences Alley” cityscapes. Often figurative this particular piece is on the more minimal and tasteful side.
You will appreciate they hand crafted nature of each brick, real mortar was applied to them, a wood window with plexi, shades behind. The ‘Hotel’ graphic feels like a view from old Brooklyn. The level of detail is maddening, the patina was extremely carefully crafted. Truly a unique art object.
Signed by the artist on lower right.
