- This is for the set of five mid century modern German ceramic tile plaques. By famed Uhl , Germany artist … more This is for the set of five mid century modern German ceramic tile plaques. By famed Uhl , Germany artist Friedrich Schaffenacker. His markings and numbering‘s or to the back of each plaque. Each plaque is mounted with a hanger. Included are two sailboats, vessels, a fish, and a rooster. The fish it is meant to hang horizontally, and the other for vertically. You would have to change the one tile mount to make them all taste the same direction. The designs are very modern and abstract. The textures and glazes are wonderful in many colors. These are thick chunky tiles. One sailboat tile has a five eights inch mostly glaze chip that somebody has colored in. There may be a few other flea bites to others but very minor. less
