A stunning French Louis XV bombe marble-top chest of drawers commode from the 19th century, styled in the manner of Charles Cressent (France, 1685–1768), finished in luxurious Rocco taste, featuring exotic well figured burled wood, hand-crafted in a curvacious, exceptionally complex bombe form, fitted with two shapely contoured drawers, then adorned in lavish, exquisitely cast Neoclassical gilt bronze ormolu mounts, exuberant scrolling foliate pulls flank classical putti and flaming urn mounts, topped with a massive, luxuriously veined salmon serpentine shaped, contoured and beveled marble top.
