The upper gallery has a beautifully detailed bellflower bronze trim. The mercury glass panel was added to reflect the glow of the candlelight when making use of the desk at night. The writing surface has a nice gold-tooled green leather top. The desk has sets of drawers on either side with lovely turned wooden pulls. The top of the shelf makes the desk 42 in. tall, although the writing surface is only 29 inches tall. This desk weighs approximately 150 lbs. less
