So-called “Shanghai Art Deco Advertising” from the 1930’s is famous for its beauty and soft faded colors, the slightly off proportions and the overload of detailing. The genre was dominated by cigarette and soap advertising, but other subjects were popular as well.
This original advertisement poster dates from the 1930’s, is printed on silk and has the top and bottom metal rail to protect it from damage while being displayed in stores. The subject is a stunning, Chinese girl with western hair wearing a gorgeous, blue dress, of course made with the fabrics of the advertiser! Rare, original Shanghai Art Deco advertisement poster.
