- This is a wonderful late 19th century French bronze and enamel jewel box with a miniature painting of two women … more This is a wonderful late 19th century French bronze and enamel jewel box with a miniature painting of two women set in the center. The box is Louis XVI in style with a bronze body and lid set with enamel panels in a vibrant kelly green. The bronze on the lid is decorated in relief with floral design. It centers a miniature watercolor painting depicting two women in high dress in the manner of the 18th C. They are wearing flowers and a tiara in their hair. The box opens to a satin lined well. Condition is very good and it dates c. 1880 - 1890. It retains its original key. Dimensions: Height: 3 1/4", Width: 7 1/2", Length: 6 1/4". less
