The contrast between the gold, the navy blue and the white are what make this charger special in our opinion. The parcel gilt detailing is intricate and in high relief -- very sharp, not worn on this charger that was produced after WW II.
The Imari palette (red and blue) depicts an asymmetrical scene with figures on a landscape against a linen-fold background, also with stylized floral medallions.
This is one of several Imari pieces acquired at an estate sale in the South Bay. This is a beautiful accent piece, (It would be the perfect complement for our Japanese Imari lamp) and it is ready to install with its own wall hangar affixed.
