Similar to Castle’s Molar chair, the whimsical, organic sculptural form is a signature of his playful design. It is constructed from molded fiberglass with a gel-coated, glass-reinforced plastic finish. Wendell Castle has a number of pieces in the permanent collections of MOMA, LACMA, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Smithsonian. This chair is a rare and collectible piece by this highly-regarded artist and designer associated with the American studio craft movement. less
