This is a fine and rare example of 1980s Italian high design with similarities to Art Deco, Memphis, and Postmodern styles. It is made of acrylic (lucite) and a silver metal — possibly nickel. This sculptural 3 arm candelabra is marked “Montagnani L & C / Firenze Italy”. Designers for Montagnani in the 1980s included Massimo Podesta (b. 1949), his design group Punto Bacola (established in 1983), and E. Pest. The label has been trimmed, and the specific designer is unknown. I have not been able to find another example of this candelabra version, although I have seen a photo of one with what looks to be black acrylic.
Condition is very good with no noteworthy flaws.
