This is a result of being polished over the years. There is also some areas where the Silverplate is Tarnished. less

This is an Absolutely Beautiful Matched Pair of Antique Wine Ewers. One for the White Wine and One for the Red Wine. Circa Late 19th Century - to Very Early 20th Century. The Bodies are made out of Hand Cut Crystal with Applied Handles. The Fancy Embossed - Repousse Tops are Sheffield Silver Plate on Solid Brass. The Hinged Lid Handles are done in a Classic English Figurative Lion and Shield Design. The Top of each lid has a Grape Vines. The Sides have a series of Putti - Cherubs Frolicking - Dancing - Playing Instruments in a Garden Setting. Note! there is also a Bacchus Wine God Faces below the Spout Area. I can find No Maker or Other Markings. They are in Very Good Overall Original Condition - Perfectly Usable. Crystal has No Chips - No Cracks - No Damage. Note! that there is a small amount of Silver Plate High Point Wear in on the Lids - Tops that Reveal a bit of the Brass Metal Underneath. This is a result of being polished over the years. There is also some areas where the Silverplate is Tarnished.
Each Measures 11 1/2 4 inches Tall x 6 1/2 inches Long x 5 1/2 inches Wide.
The Cut Crystal Features have a Wonderful Clear Color & Sparkle in the Light - It is Much Prettier in Life than my Photographs can Capture.
THIS PIECE MUST BE HAND WASHED IN WARM WATER ONLY.
DO NOT PUT IN A AUTOMATIC DISHWASHER AT THE RISK OF DAMAGE - EXTREME HEAT COULD CAUSE INTERNAL CRACKS TO THE CRYSTAL.
