A regal carved giltwood and leather armchair, based on the late 18th century design by Georges Jacob (French, 1739–1814), by fine quality luxury furniture designer Maitland Smith.
Excellent quality, craftsmanship, and detailing throughout, hand-crafted by skilled artisans in Indonesia, finished in luxuriously sophisticated Louis XVI style, the design after legendary Parisian master menuisier and French royal cabinetmaker, Georges Jacob, featuring an elaborately carved stylized acanthus leaf fiolate adorned solid wood frame, the backrest is crowned with finials surmounted by carved openwork floral laurel leaf wreath crest, accented with rosette medallions, beaded trim ornamentation, nicely shaped arms, all richly gilded, in a patinated, distressed and antiqued finish. Upholstered backrest and seat with quality cushion, dyed leather in a rich, deep burgundy - dark red wine tone.
