Created in France in the 19th century, commissioned for a Victorian era church in French Gothic Revival taste, the three sided communion low rail or shrine sanctuary rail consistenting of three ornamental work panels, decorated in ornate openwork motif, geometric pattern, scrolled wrought iron, accented with verdigris patinated bronze acorn finials and central medallion featuring the image of a Latin cross over IHS Christogram, the other two with intertwined monogram, bronze finished top and front railings.

Highly decorative, well made, and heavy duty, with a little imagination this one-of-a-kind salvaged building element can be used a variety of ways, including as the base of a table, as a fireplace screen or fire guard, prayer bench, outdoors as a garden ornament, plant stand or low trellis, or just displayed as the beautiful religious relic / folk art work it is.
