Born in France at the end of the Age of Enlightenment, this Louis XVI trumeau mirror features a linear Silhouette, beautifully adorned with a delicate décor of fruits and foliage motifs presented in an elegant vessel. This vessel is anchored by an exquisite scrollwork supporting a garland. This upper section is surrounded by petite beads while twisted ribbons on the outer frame create a visual unity with the remaining structure. A recessed panel, adorned with ribbon-tied olive branches separates the upper section from the mirror plate showing nice signs of aging. With its clean lines, great dimensions and lovely décor, this French Louis XVI period painted trumeau mirror circa 1790 will bring a touch of elegance to any wall, perhaps placed above an enfilade, console table or credenza.
