A hand-decorated French Emaux de Longwy pottery shallow bowl resting on a ring foot with an incised, cloisonné-style craquelure glaze … more A hand-decorated French Emaux de Longwy pottery shallow bowl resting on a ring foot with an incised, cloisonné-style craquelure glaze by Albert Kirchtetter. The decoration features a blue and orange bird and a blue butterfly surrounded by pink and purple blossoms and green leaves with brown branches and stems on a pale peachy-pink ground. The underside is glazed in a pale turquoise blue, while the rim and foot are a contrasting dark cobalt blue. The foot rim is pierced for display on the wall; the bowl would make an attractive desk accessory or brighten up an entry or console table.

Very good condition with the Longwy factory's signature Chinese-style craquelure crazing, measuring 1.75 in. height x 8.75 in. diameter. Fully marked underfoot with Longwy's "ribbon brand" printed mark in green. The enhancer/rehausseur's "AK" initials refer to Albert Kirchtatter who worked at Longwy from 1929-1976. less
