This set of botanicals came from a French Beaux-Arts portfolio of 4 volumes of "Encyclopedie de la Plante", an “artistique” and “documentaire” collection of botanical plates. Dys is known for his decorative designs for ceramics, wallpapers, textiles, vases, etc. His works are found in museums and library collections around the world and are often sold at auction. These 3 works show Dys' skill at drawing the details and intricacies of the structure of plants...the white lily, the geranium and the carnation. Note the details in the blossoms, strems, petals, leaves, buds, etc. The lithographs are in excellent vintage condition. Done in gray tones on light cream tone backgrounds. They were signed in stone by the artist. 11.5 x 15 inches in size. Together the 3 botanicals make a wonderful home decor statement. See less
