The … more This is a Great Looking - Very Unusual Antique American Stoneware Jelly - Preserves crock. Circa Early 20th Century. The Jar was made by the Western Stoneware Company in Monmouth Illinois. It Still Retains its Original SUNBEAM PURE FOOD - RED CURRANT JELLY Paper Label. Back in the day stoneware utility items such as these were on loan to customers from their Local Farms - Markets - Grocery Stores, Etc. They were meant to be reused as they could be refilled. I purchased this piece in Upstate New York Finger Lakes Region. The Jar is in Very Good Cosmetic Condition - No Damage. The Paper label is a Bit Age Faded. NOTE! THAT AS A RESULT OF THE OLD RUBBER GASKET THE LID IS STUCK TO THE JAR - NOT REMOVABLE.
