Richard Josef Anuszkiewicz ( 1930 - 2020 ) was an American painter, printmaker, and sculptor, who was educated by Josef Albers at Yale University. He was one of the founders an foremost exponents of The Op Art movement of the 1960's and 1970's. Considered a major force in the movement, Anuszkiewicz was concerned with the optical changes that occur when different high intensity colors are applied to the same geometric configurations. His work nested square forms similar to the work of his mentor Josef Albers.
