You are considering a vintage original tropical folk art piece singed J.M. LaFaurie. Condition of art piece itself is excellent. The blonde solid wood frame shows some contact water stains in some areas on close inspection.
This ink and watercolor piece reflects a scene on a corner shop(presumably, on the corner of Long & Cross Street SAINT JOHN'S Antigua)with locals and a roaming chicken. Nice mozaic of bright colors in selected areas.
Jacqueline M. Lafaurie was the owner of the famous Long Bay Hotel in Antigua West Indies, considered a Boutique Inn, which thrived until the late 2000's. No further information could be found but her artwork graced many walls of the Inn capturing the daily routines of past locale residents.
