This uniquely tall brass coal scuttle / coal pail features a delft handle and ornate lion detail on both sides (circa 1930s, England). Intended for housing coals, but was used by the previous owner to house a large matchbook collection. Versatile piece, equipped with sufficient room for storing smaller items, plants, or flowers.
Naturally patinated brass also shows wear consistent with age / use (water marks, scuffs, etc.). Interior is additionally tarnished and worn from age. less
