The patent leather upholstery is in tact, with some creases, wear and couple wee small tear holes(worn areas or cuts). Upholstery can be updated, BUT we left it in it's original form, for those to choose what type of textile for COM. less

C.1950s' Original Hollywood Regency, Italian brass, manner of Billy Haines Style, x-mitered or x-cross backed accent, side/desk chair with the original patent leather black upholstery. Upholstery probably needs to be update as there are a couple areas here and there, with wear, and couple tears, (given the era and use, normal and conducive with aged Vintage pieces). We left the upholstery for those diehards to "the original mantra," identifiers and iconography. The x-cross back/mitered back rest can be taken apart at the outside frame on all four apposing sides with brass scores, as are the seat frame, which seat frame are flush mounted, but one can see the difference from the top section and the lower half section and how the frame itself is put together. We are having a professional re-laquer seal this frame, as in the "as is found," condition, previous owner had it polished, but never lacquer sealed the brass. No pitting whatsoever. Brass is solid, sturdy and heavy chair. The hey day of," Auntie Mamie," movie sets, Doris Day, Cary Grant, etc. Movies, when Movie sets and the Home in these sets, were glorified with the epitome of High Fashion and Furniture design within any Movie dichotomy, from the Italian 1950's, to Edward Wormley and Dunbar Pieces, Baker Furniture, Paolo Buffa, Gio Ponti, and the many Furniture Designers, of the most prolific part within the 20th. Century, just to glean but a smidgen of the plethora of outreach Movies, and their sets did for Interior Design, the Home, and the span of outreach, with the entertainment of going to a Movie did for the Design World.
