This is an exquisite Foley Bone China set including sugar, creamer and tray made complete by a gold colored stainless demi spoon. This set was made between 1948 - 1963. The Meadowsweet flowers are vibrant in multicolors of yellow, blue, purple, red, white and green with the gold edging brilliantly shining life. There are different bouquet displays on each side of the sugar and creamer. The Demi spoon says:”Prestige ? stainless”.
Foley is actually the name of a district in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. The company originated in 1850 and was named The Foley China Works by a Mr. Robinson and sold to E. Brain in 1885. There were subsequent owners and then it was closed in 2008 and the building was demolished in 2010. This set is a beautiful example of its history. less
