The nude figure, modeled contra posta, cradles the baby lovingly in her arms and gazes upon it with affection and awe.
She stands on a square plinth. There is the suggestion of some rocks or a stump at her feet as in Classical sculpture.

In the 1970s Jaru did a successful collection of human figures with sharpened angles and some flattened surfaces that recall the African mask inspired Cubist experiments of earlier in the century.

MARKINGS: JARU maker's mark in mold; rear on bottom of left foot.
MEASUREMENTS: 4.5" x 4.5" x 21"

Excellent, pre-owned condition. There is small black mark on the upper right arm. No breaks, cracks, chips, scratches or other damage found. No repairs found. less
