Having large D-shaped panels to the sides, once the leaves are raised and tabletop extended the top morphs from narrow and rectangular to a large oval shape, elegantly rising on four richly sculptured hand carved solid cherrywood Queen Anne style cabriole legs, terminating in pad feet.

This remarkable hand-crafted antique, circa 1780, displays superb quality craftsmanship and construction, including visible dovetail and pegged mortise tenoned joinery, and wooden hinges allow the gateleg to smoothly swing out in order to support the massive leaves.
